The first-ever virtual cooking-themed game is coming to The Sandbox metaverse. The popular cooking show “Hell’s Kitchen” starring Gordon Ramsay will be entering the top decentralized virtual world soon — although no specific date has been set.
The Sandbox is partnering with ITV Studios to bring the five-time Emmy nominated show to its pixelated world. A video with Ramsay on The Sandbox’s website teases at what some of the gameplay could look like.
The restaurant, hosted on ITV’s LAND in The Sandbox, will let users experience “Hell’s Kitchen” in a virtual reality world that saw some design input from Ramsay himself. There will also be digital assets in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and limited-edition Gordon Ramsay avatars available in the future.
Ramsay, a British chef known for his bluntness, passion, and freewheeling profanity, said he’d always been “fascinated by The Sandbox” metaverse. Now the reality-star chef is carving out his own space in Web3 with the launch of the first cooking-themed game to appear in the popular decentralized metaverse.
Interested users can watch the teaser on The Sandbox website and sign up to receive further updates. “Hell’s Kitchen” is in its 20th season on Fox.
The Sandbox Keeps Building in Web3
While some speculate that the metaverse is still a long way off, The Sandbox thinks otherwise. At Rarity Sniper, we’ve covered several moves and partnerships over the last couple of weeks from The Sandbox that show the metaverse is staying busy in Web3. Here are a few headlines.
Just a few days ago, we wrote about The Sandbox creating a real-life pop-up in Hong Kong to grow its user base in the city. The location will feature workshops from local studios, creative content videos, and discussions about Web3 and the metaverse. Residents who open accounts from the location will have a chance to receive rewards and prices in the metaverse.
Next, last week Paris Hilton partnered with The Sandbox to construct a virtual mansion on the platform. She intends to use the virtual home to host rooftop parties and concerts and to connect with fans in new ways. The self-proclaimed “Queen of Crypto” also has a presence in the Roblox metaverse.
And about a month ago, we reported news that South Korea’s KEB Hana Bank was entering The Sandbox. Hana Bank is South Korea’s #1 bank and plans to use the virtual space to provide consulting and other banking services. The news came only four months after British bank HSBC set up its own virtual bank in The Sandbox ecosystem.
The Sandbox is one of the top decentralized metaverses, and even in this crypto bear market, it has been making moves. Adding a metaverse version of Gordon Ramsay’s popular cooking show “Hell’s Kitchen” to its list of games and experiences should only help its cause.
