nWay Launches Cosmic Bomber Beta + Olympic Initiatives

nWay, a Web3 game studio and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has been having a big couple of weeks. After announcing several initiatives for the Paris Olympics 2024, the game studio just announced the release of its beta version of Cosmic Bomber, a new multiplayer Web3 action game.

According to the news, Cosmic Bomber is a “Bomberman-style” action-maze game where players use strategy to position explosive balloons to eliminate rival players and teams. The real-time multiplayer competition features unique NFT avatars and a hybrid Web3 economy that enables players to sell digital assets, spend, and earn.

The new game is the latest addition to Cosmic Club, Mocaverse’s social gamification hub. Currently, the 1.79 million Moca ID holders can try out the game at the following link.

But Cosmic Bomber isn’t the only recent news from nWay, which specializes in building interoperable Web3 games and is most known for its fighting and action games, including Power Rangers and Wreck League. The subsidiary of Animoca Brands also launched Olympics Go! Paris 2024 this week — the official game for Olympic Games in Paris that are currently underway.

Furthermore, last month, nWay launched an official NFT Digital Pin to commemorate the Paris 2024 Olympics. The non-transferable digital assets are minted on Base and can be claimed on the Magic Eden NFT marketplace between July 9th and August 12th.

The Olympics Games take place from July 26th to August 11th and are expected to attract up to 3.1 million visitors to France from all over the globe. TV viewership could exceed 3 billion.

Animoca Brands Continues to Move Web3 Gaming Forward

Animoca Brands is a Hong-Kong based game software company and VC firm founded in 2014. Since pivoting to Web3 gaming in 2018, the company has become one of the biggest names in the space and continues to push the envelope for Web3 games.

At Rarity Sniper, we’ve covered dozens of articles about Animoca Brands over the years. Here are some of the most recent headlines:

Being both a game studio and a venture capital firm appears to give Animoca Brands a leg up when it comes to raising capital. The company also has the added advantage of being in business for a decade, which gives it more experience than most Web3 gaming studios, many of which have sprouted up over the past few years.

Time will tell if Cosmic Bomber and nWay’s initiatives for the Olympic Games will be popular with fans. But regardless, Animoca Brands has become a force to reckon with in the Web3 gaming space, and we’re sure there’s much more to come.
