Soulbound Web3 Game Wins the Discord App Pitch 2024

Soulbound, a browser-based Web3 MMORPG previously named Worldwide Webb, just won the Grand Prize for the Discord App Pitch 2024, which comes with a $30,000 award and more. The win is a testament to Soulbound’s innovative approach to Web3 gaming and highlights the potential of integrating Web3 games and apps into social platforms.

According to a report from Discord, Soulbound, which earned a spot in the public voting period after winning the “Adventure Together” category, the game had the most repeat usage among all category winners and held over 50% of the votes.

The founder and CEO of Soulbound, Thomas Webb, said that the integration of Soulbound into Discord will enable the studio “to deliver an even more engaging and collaborative experience” for players. He added that Soulbound is a game that “pushes the boundaries” and praised his team for their “dedication and innovation.”

For now, Soulbound intends to continue improving the game’s user experience and integrating more social features. Besides the cash prize, Soulbound will also receive individual support from members of the Discord API and Studio teams, as well as featured placement on discovery surfaces.

The Discord Pitch App 2024 invited developers around the world to create the next big game on Discord. The games were judged by industry professionals on Value, Professionalism, Uniqueness, Innovation, and Representation. There were five categories, including Adventure Together, Chill, Collect and Create, and Wildcard.

The other individual category winners were Clash Gem: Card Party from Ammateru Co. Ltd (Wildcard), Magic Circle from Magic Circle Studios, Inc. (Chill), Exoracer from Nyan Studio Games (Compete), and Papery Match from WCSE (Collect and Create).
