STEPN Partners with adidas for New NFT Collection

Today, the Solana-based move-to-earn platform STEPN announced it was partnering with adidas and ‘ALTS’ by adidas for a long-term collaboration that kicks off this week with an exclusive NFT collection.

‘STEPN x adidas: Step into the Future,’ a Solana-based NFT collection consisting of 1,000 unique tokens, will be released on April 17th and 18th on the MOOAR marketplace — an NFT marketplace and launchpad focused on creators.

According to an X post from STEPN today, Phase 1 of the drop will begin on April 17th at 0:00 AM UTC. It will only be open to allowlist members, which will be given to ‘ALTS’ by adidas NFT holders, STEPN OG and Genesis holders, ‘Effective Mover 6 Badge’ holders, Gas Hero: Genesis or Badge holders, and users of MOOAR: Membership level five and above.

Both the adidas and STEPN apps will provide incentives for physical activities like walking, jogging, and running. There will also be future FSL points airdrops that reward user for holding their Genesis sneaker NFTs and participating in the ecosystem.

The CEO of STEPN, Shiti Manghani, said that the partnership will blend the virtual and the physical to promote exercise. Users will be able to “move-and-earn in both the virtual and real world simultaneously,” he added.

STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle app that rewards its NFT holders for movement. It was launched in 2021 by FindSatoshi Lab (FSL) and is currently a top Web3 app with over 5 million users. At the time of writing, STEPN’s native token $GMT was up nearly 8% over the past 24 hours.

Adidas Has Been Building in Web3 for Years

The partnership with a globally renowned sportswear and footwear brand like adidas is a big win for STEPN and should help attract more users into its ecosystem. But the fact the partnership is with adidas should come as no surprise. Adidas has been bullish on Web3 for some time now. At Rarity Sniper, we’ve covered dozens of articles about the popular brand over the past couple years.

Here’s a review of some of the top headlines about adidas in Web3:

As we come up on the Bitcoin halving and what many are hoping will be an unprecedented bull market, adidas appears to be well-positioned to become the top sportswear and apparel brand in Web3, although it still has stiff competition from the likes of Nike and Reebok.

Regardless, the new STEPN x adidas NFT collections marks the beginning of a partnership that looks promising for both companies. But perhaps the biggest benefactors of the partnership will be the users themselves, who stand to get in shape while being rewarded with tokens. At Rarity Sniper, we’ll stay on the lookout for any updates to the story.
