Melania Trump Unveils Mother’s Day NFT Collection

Melania Trump, the former first lady of the United States, is giving NFTs another go.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, she’s released a gold necklace engraved with her signature that comes with an accompanying NFT. The necklace was designed by Melania to “honor all mothers,” and is priced at $245 apiece.

On her website, it says that each necklace can be personalized with engraved initials, dates, or names to create a 1:1 piece of jewelry. The necklaces are made from gold vermeil, include a 16 to 20-inch adjustable chain and a flower pendant that measures 1 inch.

This isn’t the first time the former first lady has entered the Web3 space. Back in January 2022, she auctioned off a wide-brimmed hat and animated version of it that was minted on Solana.

On her site, there are also two other NFTs for sale. The first, The MetaRose, was created to commemorate National Foster Care Month. It consists of 3,000 NFTs available for the price of $150 apiece. Profits from the collection will be used to support foster children through Fostering the Future initiatives.

The second is the “Women’s History Month Collection,” which was created in collaboration with the artist Marc-Antoine Coulon and is also priced at $150. There are 2,600 Solana-based NFTs in this collection.

The Web3 moves from Melania come as her husband, ex-president Donald Trump, is facing mounting legal fees that are estimated at a whopping $86 million. To raise money, Trump has released a pair of gold-colored sneakers at the price of $399.99 a pair called the “Never Surrender High-Tops,” as well as several NFT collections himself.

As Americans gear up for the presidential race in November, the three leading candidates are Donald Trump, current president Joe Biden, and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The most pro-crypto candidate is RFK Jr., who recently said that he would put the entire U.S. budget on the blockchain. However, he is also the least likely candidate to win, according to polls.

Donald Trump Is Bullish on NFTs

In the past, Donald Trump has given mixed messages about his views on crypto. He has said that he wants “the dollar to be the currency of the world,” and even called Bitcoin a scam back in 2021. However, over the past couple of years, the ex-president has dropped several NFT collections that could signal a change in sentiment.

Here’s a review of some of the top headlines about Trump in Web3:

We can’t be certain that Trump’s NFT drops reveal his views about crypto or Web3. After all, they could just be a cash grab; an easy way to raise funds for his campaign and mounting legal fees. However, it’s likely that after multiple NFT drops and an increasing amount of Web3 experience from both him and his wife, that the Trumps have warmed up to the idea of crypto and blockchain technology.
