Dookey Dash, the popular runner game from Yuga Labs where players race through an endless sewer to score points, is back with a whole new reboot.

The ‘Unclogged’ edition is a free-to-play game created in collaboration with Faraway game studio. It is expected to drop sometime in February. The news was announced by Yuga Labs on X on January 16th, along with the statement, “Looks like Curtis needs to get the plunger out, there’s something in the toilet.”

The first version of the game saw players racing down a 3D sewer riding their avatar apes to accumulate points. The game was only open to Sewer Pass NFT holders, which were given to Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape NFT holders. This version, however, will be open to the public.

For some players, Dookey Dash paid off handsomely. In February 2023, ‘Mongraal,’ a professional Fortnite player notched the highest score on Dookey Dash and sold his winning NFT for $1.63 million to the billionaire Adam Weitsman.

The Fortnite Guy (“TFG”), an ex pro gamer and Bored Ape influencer who was invited to playtest the game, said the Unclogged edition comes with new characters and skins, NFT rewards for Yuga Labs NFT holders, monetization opportunities, and regular esports tournaments. It will be released on Android, iOS, Windows desktop, and Mac desktop.

Yuga Labs native $APE token enjoyed a nice rise in price following the announcement. At the time of writing, it’s up around 5% for the day, and nearly 15% for the week, as per data from CoinGecko.

Yuga Labs Keeps Building Its Brand

When it comes to NFT studios, few are as important in Web3 as Yuga Labs. The creators of OG NFT collections like the Bored Ape Yacht Club, and owners of CryptoPunks, Yuga Labs is one of the most respected and dynamic studios around. Even though the floor price of some of its top NFT collections have fallen in the bear market, Yuga Labs continues to innovate in the space and bring value to its NFT holders.

At Rarity Sniper, we’ve covered dozens of articles about Yuga Labs over the years. Here are some of the top articles from 2023:

The reboot and re-release of Dookey Dash is exciting for fans of the game, especially the public who may not hold a Yuga Lab NFT. The potential to earn token rewards, NFTs, or become the game’s top player could come with serious benefits as well — as we saw from last year’s winner.

Regardless of the game’s outcome, it’s clear Yuga Labs cares about its NFT holders and is invested in Web3 for the long haul. If the NFT market turns bullish again, as we expect it will at some point, Yuga Labs could be poised for a major comeback.
