Binance to Auction Ronaldo NFTs for Meet-and-Greet

Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, is starting the final phase of its fourth Cristiano Ronaldo NFT collection, “Forever Worldwide: The Road to Saudi Arabia.” In it, users will have a chance to win one of seven rare NFTs and a meet-and-greet with the soccer superstar.

Four of the seven NFTs will be auctioned starting tomorrow at 2pm UTC with an initial bid price of 777 USDT. Three can be won through a quiz. Only users who have collected the six previous NFTs in the collection will be eligible for the quiz, which will start at the same time as the auction. Both the auction and the quiz will finalize on June 18th, 23:59:59 UTC.

Winners of the seven “Portugal” NFTs will receive free premium economy tickets and accommodations to watch Ronaldo’s team play in-person. In addition, each winner will meet Ronaldo on-set, where the top goal-scorer of all time will perform and record videos of a personalized goal celebration that each winner has scripted.

The “Forever Worldwide: The Road to Saudi Arabia” NFT collection initially launched on May 29th. It features seven NFTs that celebrate different places where Ronaldo has played soccer: “Madeira,” “Lisbon,” “Manchester,” “Madrid,” “Turin,” “Saudi,” and “Portugal.” Users who collected the NFTs had the chance to receive vintage jerseys, soccer tickets, and printable posters.

In a press release shared with Rarity Sniper, Ronaldo commented that the collection means “a lot” to him personally and that it offers fans pieces of his journey throughout his soccer story. Working with the artists for the NFT images made the experience even more sentimental, and now, as NFTs, these moments in his journey can live on forever, he added.

Ronaldo, Binance Partnership Timeline

The partnership between Binance and Ronaldo dates back to 2022 and has resulted in four NFT collections, all launched on the Binance NFT marketplace. But the agreement has not been without hiccups, as the soccer star faces a $1 billion class action lawsuit for the promotion of the NFTs, which have since gone down in value considerably.

Here are three stories we’ve covered between the soccer star and the world’s leading exchange.

First, five months ago, holders of NFTs from two Ronaldo collections had a chance to train with the superstar himself. The event took place in Lisbon, where the holders participated in drills and challenges with the star.

Next, 11 months ago, Ronaldo’s second NFT collection, “The GOAT,” debuted on the Binance NFT marketplace. The set celebrated Ronaldo’s most dangerous ability: goal-scoring. With over 29,000 NFTs in the collection, users were able to buy specific goals from the striker’s career, including his first goal, the knuckleball, and the bicycle kick.

Lastly, one-and-a-half years ago, Ronaldo’s first NFT collection debuted on Binance. It featured seven animated statues that depicted the player in different moments in his career and life. They were grouped into four rarity tiers, with some being auctioned and others set at a list price of $77.

As these articles show, Ronaldo has been busy throughout his partnership with Binance. Although some may be unhappy with the current prices of the NFTs in those collections, some collectors are likely excited to collect a digital keepsake from one of their favorite players. We’ll look out for any updates in the story and update this article if needed.
