Cool Cats Group LLC, the company behind the blue-chip non-fungible token (NFT) collection Cool Cats, just announced a strategic partnership with Animoca Brands, a Web3 gaming software company.
The partnership was formed through a longstanding relationship between the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands, Yat Siu, and the Executive Chairman of Cool Cats Group, Ken Cron. Cron said working closely with Animoca Brands should bring “tremendous value” to the Cool Cats community.
Cool Cats is on a mission to become the largest global NFT brand and media and content company in the world. One way it intends to do this is through expanding its blockchain-based gaming offerings — an area Hong-Kong-based game software company Animoca Brands specializes in.
Animoca Brands’ mission is to deliver true digital ownership of virtual assets to users and advance the “open metaverse.” It has a focus on play-to-earn (P2E) gaming and GameFi opportunities and recently closed a strategic $110 million funding round with new investors.
Cool Cats is a collection of 9,999 generative NFTs based on the “Blue Cat” character from artist Colin Egan. The collection exploded on launch day in July 2021 and has since become a blue-chip NFT collection and positioned Cool Cats Group LLC as a major player in Web3.
The partnership should let both companies deliver new, compelling gaming experiences to their respective communities. To find out more about the partnership, you can visit the Cool Cats’ website or follow Cool Cats NFT on Twitter.
Cool Cats Is Building Its Brand in Web3
Although the floor price of Cool Cats NFTs have dropped significantly from its high of 25.75 ETH on OpenSea back in October 2021, the bear market hasn’t stopped the Cool Cats’ team from staying busy. We’ve covered several stories from Cool Cats at Rarity Sniper this year. Here are three of the most recent.
First, five months ago, Cool Cats partnered with London-based entertainment company Toikido to create and distribute merchandise. The deal will see Cool Cats made into toys, plushies, and a wide range of merchandise to be sold in physical stores.
Next, in June, Cool Cats revealed it is creating playable NFT avatars for the popular decentralized metaverse The Sandbox. The playable avatars are expected to be released through a new NFT drop in Quarter 4 of 2022.
Lastly, about a month ago, The Hundreds, a popular California streetwear brand, partnered with Cool Cats for a physical merchandise drop. The drop saw t-shirts and totes emblazoned with the Cool Cat mascot and an Adam Bomb Squad mesh.
Although Cool Cat NFT holders have seen the value of their NFTs decrease in recent months, it’s likely due to the bear market in crypto and not from any lack of effort from the Cool Cats’ team. This latest news about the partnership with a major Web3 gaming company in Animoca Brands is huge and should get Cool Cats community excited. We’ll be looking out for any new developments in the story.
