Halloween is just around the corner and Paris Hilton, the self-appointed “Queen of the Metaverse,” is teaming up with The Sandbox for a Halloween-themed virtual experience called Cryptoween.
The multiplayer experience in the virtual world will be the first ever in-game Halloween holiday experience in The Sandbox and is only available for a limited time between October 21st and November 7th. The event is taking place in an immersive fantasy-land party hosted by Hilton.
Fans from around the world will be able to enter the party with their digital avatars and compete in social challenges and quests, collect virtual Halloween candy, and participate in raffles to earn $SAND cryptocurrency and non-fungible token (NFT) rewards.
Here’s what we know about some of the rewards:
- Crypto. 10,000 players will receive 50 $SAND.
- Whitelists. There will be 50 whitelists for a free avatar from the UNREAVEALED Paris Hilton collection.
- NFTs. There will be 100 NFTs from the Diamond Baby NFT collection.
- Memorabilia. All players will receive memorabilia from Cryptoween.
To coincide with the experience in The Sandbox, Hilton released a Cryptoween NFT Collection available on The Sandbox marketplace. The collection consists of avatars and Halloween-themed accessories that can be sported at Cryptoween.
The event was created by 11:11 Media, founded by entertainment veteran Bruce Gersh and Hilton herself. Halloween is Hilton’s favorite holiday and it appears that not even a bear market can stop her from celebrating it in the metaverse.
Paris Hilton Leads the Way in Web3
For fans of Paris Hilton and followers of Web3 news, the immersive experience and NFT collection Cryptoween on The Sandbox should come as no surprise. At Rarity Sniper, we’ve reported several stories about Hilton in Web3. Here are some of the top headlines from this year.
First, on March 15th, Hilton signed a deal with The Sandbox. As part of the deal, Hilton received parcels of LAND and an official Sandbox avatar in her likeness. Her media company 11:11 also partnered with The Sandbox’s majority owner Animoca Brands for the 2022 South by Southwest music festival.
Next, Hilton was reported to be a leading investor in the NFT ticketing platform “Afterparty.” The company — which gained prominence after minting 1,500 “Utopians” NFTs linked to parties and perks — recently raised $7 million from investment firms, VCs, and other celebrities.
Lastly, a few months ago the “crypto queen” built her virtual mansion in The Sandbox. The goal of her mansion is to have a space to host virtual parties that enable fans to connect in novel and immersive ways.
Paris Hilton is no-doubt one of the most influential celebrities when it comes to Web3 technologies, and she has several projects in the works to prove it. The Cryptoween Halloween party on The Sandbox will last until November 7th and appears to be her most ambitious Web3 project yet. We’ll be following up to see how it goes.
