The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) just announced a partnership with Modex and the FIFA Collect platform. The FRF aims to use the partnership to create a closer connection between the Romanian National Team and its supporters by offering exclusive Web3 content and experiences.

The FIFA Collect platform uses NFTs and blockchain technology to connect fans to their favorite teams and players, enabling them to buy, sell, and trade digital collectibles from their favorite FIFA teams. In May of this year, FIFA announced that all football clubs and federations can access FIFA Collect. However, the Romanian club is the first national association to partner with the platform.

Răzvan Burleanu, the president of FRF, said that the partnership will enable fans “to access exclusive content and unique experiences” that will bring “them even closer to the National Team.” The Chief Marketing Officer at Modex, Antonio Lorenzo, added that they were excited to welcome FRF to the platform, and that they expected “many more to follow.” He also said that the partnership will help lead “the future of football fanaticism in Romania.”

Modex is a Web3 platform that seeks to revolutionize the way sports and businesses engage with their audience. Through Web3 technology, it opens doors to new fan engagement experiences and monetization opportunities that were previously unavailable, including rare physical and digital memorabilia and unique football moments minted as NFTs.

FIFA was founded in 1904 and boasts 211 national football teams. It is currently one of the most prestigious sports organizations in the world, with millions of fans around the globe.
